How to Remove Coronavirus from Your Coat?

Officials at Washington State predicted that we might see as many as 25,000 infected cases in the next few. As new cases keep popping up, it is increasingly likely that our coats are contaminated by respiratory droplets from the infected and by coming into contact with the items that they have touched. Therefore, removing coronavirus from our coats is a very useful measure in protect the health of ourselves and our loved ones.

Before taking off coat, clean your hands with sanitizers. After unbuttoning the coat, use one hand to grasp the inside of the opposite sleeve and pull it off. If necessary, you may help it by pulling the outside of the coat from under the armpit, which is relatively clean. Once one sleeve slides off, do the same on the other sleeve. Hold the coat by grasping the inside of the collar as the coat comes off and hand it up on a rack.

Spray diluted vinegar on the out surface of the coat and wipe the areas which might have been heavily contaminated.

You may use expose both front and back side of the coat to UV light half an hour each. UV light can clean multiple coats simultaneously. It is also an easy way to sanitize bags, mails, packages and other items. Don’t expose your skin and eyes to UV light.
